Lie-Flat Beds Launched in Economy...
Air New Zealand has announced they will introduce a "lie-flat" bed in economy class on their Auckland to Los Angeles route from December this year. The airline are calling it the Skycouch and the concept is three adjoining economy seats that turn into one fully flat bed. Each seat can be extended, effectively widening the sleeping surface.

Air New Zealand say that couples and families wanting a Skycouch will be able to buy two seats for an extra NZ$200 each and then a third at around half price.

You will have to be quick to book your Skycouch though as there will only be 22 available per aircraft in the first 11 rows in economy class.

Protecting your data when travelling...
When you are travelling with IT equipment i.e. laptops, do you ever consider how safe your data is? In an age where technology is mobile equipped, there is also a greater risk of confidential and sensitive company information being exploited by cybercriminals particularly when outside of the office. Many companies have policies in place to safe guard against such risks does yours?

Airport and hotel business centres are prime security hotspots due to their wireless internet facilities. Anyone can set up a fake Wi-Fi network encouraging people to connect to it which will enable them to capture sensitive information.

There are many effective ways to protect your data whilst away from the office like encrypting sensitive information such as for a presentation. Most laptops have a built-in-file encryption system. Save data on to memory sticks and not on to your laptop and use complex passwords to access files.

As a business, best practice is to have a strict company procedure for data transportation, storage and access for when your employees are travelling on business.

ESTA Visa Requirement Reminder…
The US Visa Waiver Programme is now mandatory which means all passengers travelling or transferring to the US must be approved through the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) scheme prior to travel unless you have a valid US visa. Failure to do so will result in passengers not being allowed to travel.

To apply for the scheme please visit the ESTA website. It will take you 5 minutes to complete the application form and approval will be returned within 72 hours but more likely instantly. Once approved the application is valid for two years.
